1. LEARNED LESSIONS

• In relation with children. The reason for the existence of the home are the children, and that's why we are sensible to supplement all their needs. Because the children grow up and one day leave the home, we want to give them the best possible memories of the home. The children don't forget any details. When they are adults, we hope that they can tell their history in this home with a joy for the future generations.
• In relation with the parents and the personal. The work of the personal has to be recognized in many ways. They also have their needs, and need to be loved, approved and accepted.
• In relation with the sponsors. The sponsors need to be considered as team members of the home. They are well informed about the home's economical changes.
• In relation with the churches in the town. The Christian churches are strength for the development of children's spiritual life. Every family in the home is integrated to different churches in the town.

2. DIFFICULTIES AND CHALLENGES

• The budget. The home is a social work that depends on the churches and people who sustain the home. It is very rare to have money left on the bank account in the end of the month.
• Personell. It's a big challenge to find appropriate and engaged staff to work with children and adolescents. The staff is the main secret for the success with the children. One wrong person can cause bad fame of even a scandal. We have experienced that younger person are easier to train for the work with children and adolescents than older. Usually people tend to act with other children as their parents acted with them or as they act with their own children. There's a lot of violence and abuse in the families in the Bolivian society, and that's why it's very important to investigate these tendencies when acquiring new personell.

Solutions for the difficultions and the challenges

• To make pacts with theological institutions such as seminaries and the University of the theology.
• To promote more locally.

3. INSTITUTIONAL AREAS

The home works with a group of technical professionals who work in the office at the home. Their work areas are social work, psychological areas, pedagogic, the health of the children and legally issues.

We are implementing a branch for the residents and new families.
